These pieces may look familiar from the “Before” pictures of our Fairy Garden Glam room that I did for my friend, Melissa.  She wanted her daughter to have the old furniture, but I repainted it first so that it would be cool like Mady.  Here are the before and after’s.

The raw wood had seen better days, which means that its time to paint!

Rachael’s table was such a fun project!!  She has an old family table that she just can’t part with so we made it new!!  Instead of worrying about the bumps and scrapes on it, we celebrated them by painting the table with two different colors and sanding it down!

Fairy Garden Glam

I had so much fun redecorating this bedroom.  My sweet friend gave me very little direction on what she wanted, which can be good and bad.  I had all the freedom I wanted, but at the same time, she could walk in and hate it.  But the happy tears in her eyes when she walked in was all I needed to know that she was in love!!

Most of the pieces that I found for this room were repurposed, from basements, estate sales and thrift stores.  However, I didn’t scrimp on the fabrics and textiles, they are all brand new and fabulous.  All of the furniture was painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

The Awesome Condo!!!

This is the condo that I helped decorate.  This was a tad different because I had never been there.  I worked together with the owner who did all of the manual labor.  We make a pretty great team.

This is first pic is the after,  but take a look at those before pics too.  If you click on the after pic, it will open the link to airbnb.com and you check the whole place out!! This place looks AMAZING!!

So sad at the store just waiting on me to find them.
Before I was able to work on them.
Before I was able to work on them.
Before and after I scrubbed the medallions with vinegar.

Mercury Glass

My friend Tara was thinking about adding some mercury glass to a guest room.  She had seen some on the show Fixer Upper (who didn’t) and loved the look.  So before we took on the big project, Lily and I decide to tackle a small vase to see how to make mercury glass.  It was super simple as long as you have the right products.  The instructions said to get Krylon’s Looking Glass Paint and White Distilled Vinegar.  I could only find the Looking Glass Paint at the craft store. Basically, you:

  1. Put the vinegar in a spray bottle
  2. Spray the glass with vinegar lightly
  3. Spray with the Krylon
  4. Dab with a cloth
  5. Wait about 30 seconds…and repeat about 5 times.

We had a blast making the vase look old!!
